Ways to Use Our I Remember Videos
- Studying a particular event or time period in class?
- Go beyond the textbook to illuminate the personal nature of history and gain a sense of how events actually impacted people’s lives.
- Use the videos as a conversation starter or with a journal prompt as students analyze events they are studying in class.
- Create flipped learning activities watching the video outside of class and using class time for students to share their thoughts on the discussion question(s) or work on the activity idea(s) that accompany each video.
- Interested in building student excitement for history in any grade level or across the curriculum?
- Use the videos as part of a regular “This Week in History” type activity with students viewing a video and responding in journal entries, think/pair/share groups, or general class discussion.
- View videos for use as inspiration for student-created art, story, play, performance, or re-enactment of their own creation.
