Our Offerings

Created by educators and students for use by educators and students, Educate.Today for the Art Classroom is excited to offer an ever-growing library of:

1.  Standards-Based Video Resources targeted for use in whole class, small group, or individualized and differentiated learning settings.

2.  Single Curriculum and Cross-Curricular Activity Ideas and Lesson Plans related to those video resources.

Curricular areas covered by these resources include:

  • Two-Dimensional, Three-Dimensional, Media and Digital presenting extended interviews and shorter segments with artists sharing their work, discussing their craft, and demonstrating their techniques as well as our first person video series, “Meet the Artist.”
  • History and Theory providing tours of exhibitions led by curators or artists involved that highlight specific artists, specific types of artistic work, or movements and periods in the history of art as well as videos focused on art criticism with individuals sharing their reactions to works of art.
  • Arts Integration and STEAM focusing on how the visual arts intersects with other disciplines.
  • Career Exploration highlighting first person “Meet the Artist” biographies as well as videos featuring professions in the art world and advice to students from artists working today.

3.  Live Interactive Programs connecting your students to visual artists and other professionals in the arts and education fields who are applying the curriculum content, problem solving skills, and critical and creative thinking skills your students are studying in class.  Programs in these areas fall into two categories:

  • Scheduled Free Special Events offered at a specific date and time for you and your students to participate live through online or video conference interaction.  These programs are also archived afterward for on-demand viewing if you are unable to join during the live presentation.
  • On-Demand Student Interactive Programs whose content and time frame you target to best meet your students’ learning needs.  A menu of currently available programs is provided on the website through the “Interactive Programs” button on the home page.

4.  Professional Development Resources featuring interviews and presentations covering specific topics in the visual arts as well as classroom practice and cross curricular applications.  Resources also include teacher tool kits, lesson plans and activity ideas, and live and archived interactive webinars.

Student and educator focused and standards-based, our videos and related curriculum resources and our live and interactive programs authentically link students, teachers, and the curriculum they study to individuals and organizations who are applying that curriculum in the real world.

We invite you to join us in this mission by sending us your videos, lesson plans, and activity ideas to share with other MAEA members through publication on the website.  To let us know about resources you’d like to share, send us the completed form you’ll find here and we’ll get back in touch.
