Video Description: “Striking Power: Iconoclasm in Ancient Egypt” at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation examines the importance of imagery and how different groups sought to destroy spirits, history, and even gods through the purposeful vandalism of art. Victims ranged from depictions of mere servants to statues of the gods themselves, though motivations varied over time and between agents of destruction. The exhibition covers the Pharaonic Period, the Late Antique Period, and the Islamic Period.
