Quick Ideas for Using our Understanding Dance Videos:

  • Foster an appreciation for dance by learning from dancers and choreographers directly.
  • Give students a “behind the scenes” look at what goes into creating a dance by going “inside the head” of choreographers and dancers.
  • Give students a real-world perspective on the research, logistic, and artistic processes that are part of being a choreographer and dancer.
  • Have students learn about different styles of dance.
  • Have students include insights gained through the videos as part of their projects, papers, and presentations on a dance-related subject by:
    • interpreting and/or summarizing what they saw and learned in the video.
    • citing quotations from the expert in the video.
