Quick Ideas for Using the Video:

  • For Discussion: Before viewing the video have students discuss the phrase “narrative driven art.” what do they think it means? What type of art do they think it includes? What would they create for such an exhibition? Then view the video and discuss the art seen.
  • Activity Idea: Use the video as inspiration for a cross-curricular arts integration activity combining visual arts and language arts. Depending on your preference, students could begin by creating a narrative driven work of art in a medium of their choice. Then have students view the artwork and choose one as inspiration for their own short story, poem, play scene, etc. Students should select of work of art that is not their own. Or, students could begin by writing the narrative and then other students could select one to use as inspiration for creating their own narrative driven artwork based on what they read.

*Tours take students to laboratories, studios, workspaces, museums and other diverse “in the field” and community locations related to the area of study.
