Quick Ideas for Using the Video:

  • For Discussion: Have students respond to the concept of the exhibition and the works they see in it. Were they aware of such books before viewing the video? How do they evaluate the artist’s work in achieving her objective for the exhibition?
  • Activity Idea: Use the video in conjunction with a cross-curricular project/activity linking art with history/social studies. What topic might students explore in a similar way to the artist in the video? What historic images, writings, artwork might they use in the exhibition they create? What issue would they like to address? Evaluate the project from an arts integration perspective using standards from both art and history/social studies disciplines.

*Tours take students to laboratories, studios, workspaces, museums and other diverse “in the field” and community locations related to the area of study.
