Quick Ideas for Using the Video:

  • Use the video as part of a career exploration unit. Have students view the video and then journal and share about what interests them and doesn’t interest them about this career. What would challenge them in this career? What kind of training would be needed? What salary could they expect? Have them research to find out more about being a sound mixer.
  • Use the video as part of a STEM unit focused on sound. Is a sound mixer available in your high school auditorium or another location for students to use? Have them work the sound board to practice the skills demonstrated in the video and bring the STEM unit to life.

*Topical videos are filmed on location in the classroom/workspace/laboratory, in studio, or a combination of both to explain and/or demonstrate specific concepts, events, topics, or processes.
