Type of Video: Segment*
Unique Video ID: Environment-33**

Quick Ideas for Using the Video:

  • Before viewing the video ask students how many pounds of trash they think gets thrown away every day? Once all the students have answered, watch the first few seconds of the video to see how close they were.
  • Using the slide of “Close the Loop” from the video, supply students with old magazines or clipart and have them create their own “loop” on construction paper or posterboard. They can write a short paragraph describing how they can close the loop in their own words and present them to the class.

*Segment videos are short excerpts edited from interviews or interactive programs that offer flexible and differentiated ways to use the rich content included in the full-length conversation.
