7:19
Grades: 6 - 12

Video Description: In “Alive Inside,” the energy of modern dance tells stories of aging, memory loss and cognitive diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease. Choreographers interviewed people about their lives before Parkinson’s and other cognitive impairments. Some of the choreography is set to documentary audio interviews, while other dances are performed to contemporary music. Both the choreographers and interviewees agree–bringing these stories to life through dance was a rewarding and enlightening experience.
