Tim Gore – Director of Educational Initiatives
Prior to his work with HEC-TV, Tim was a high school and middle school teacher, retiring after twenty-eight years in the classroom. During his career, Tim was a speech, debate and theater instructor/coach, social studies teacher, teacher of the gifted, and professional development facilitator. Tim’s career as an educator and educational television producer includes a variety of honors and awards. Some of his teaching honors include: Missouri Outstanding Speech and Theater Teacher, Finalist Missouri State Teacher of the Year, National Federation Interscholastic Speech and Debate Assocation Outstanding Speech/Drama/Debate Educator Award, and Missouri State High School Activities Association Distinguished Service Award. Some of the honors and awards received in his capacity as producer and host of HEC-TV educational programming include: The Missouri Bar E.A. Richter Award for Excellence in Civic Education, The Missouri Bar Dr. Warren H. Solomon Civic Virtue Award, the Progressive Youth Connection Award for Outstanding Service to Youth in the Field of Media and Entertainment, Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration Pinnacle Award, and three Mid-America Region Emmy Awards.
Kristy Houle – Educational Outreach Coordinator
Kristy Houle is the Educational Opportunities Coordinator for HEC-TV and a director for the Educate.Today department of the corporation. She is responsible for assisting in website development, planning quality programming, developing professional development, and building partnerships with local school districts. She also contributes to the HEC-TV Magazine as a writer for the Educational Spotlight section each month. Now a busy homeschool parent, Kristy had already been in the education field for 17 years as teacher, administrator, and presenter for St. Louis area school districts. She has done extensive work with superintendents and local universities in the field of quality classroom instruction and professional development. Kristy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Missouri State University, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and an Educational Specialist Degree in Administration from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Kristy lives with her husband Rich, an engineer; children Jack, Charlie and Max; and a Golden Retriever, Luke.
Helen Headrick – Education Team Member
From playing school with my siblings through all my many positions, education has been in the forefront of my life. I taught for years in a Catholic school, worked for HEC-TV as the Education Coordinator and retired from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch as the Newspapers in Education Manager. I’ve received several honors, such as the E. A. Richter Award for Excellence in Civic Education in 2013, was a Teacher of the Year Teaching with Cable Award winner, and was a finalist for both the Save Our History Teacher of the Year and Leaders in Learning. I’m passionate about HEC-TV’s mission and offerings, so I’m glad to be back on this team, helping serve you, the teachers!
Jessica Pierce – Educate.Today Team Member
Jessica has a background in film production, with experience on short narrative, reality TV, commercial, and feature film sets. She works professionally as an Assistant Director on creative sets in the St. Louis area, a producer and editor for HEC Media, an assistant for the Webster University Film Series, and a freelance videographer and editor for Consuming Kinetics Dance Company. Her involvement with Educate.Today is vast and varied and she enjoys every component. From social media engagement to content creation to website maintenance, Jessica’s skills as a producer, editor, and (sometimes) marketing person get to flourish on the Educate.Today team.
