History Day 2020–Breaking Barriers in History

The 2020 National History Day theme is “Breaking Barriers in History,” and Educate.Today is proud to highlight examples of videos in its collection that feature individuals and organizations who have broken barriers themselves or that describe events, legislation, and physical creations that have been integral to overcoming a barrier.

Whether students engage in developing a paper, exhibit, performance, documentary, or website, we think our Educate.Today resources can help in a number of ways including:

  1. acquiring background knowledge and context for their project.
  2. acquiring quotations or excerpts to use in their project.
  3. seeing examples of interviews, videos, and first person performances to inspire student ideas for their project.

All videos are free to view online, but if it’s helpful for student research, or to use a video excerpt in a student project, videos are also available for download for $1 to $5 each by contacting us at info@educate.today.  Title your email “History Day Download” and be sure to include your intended use and contact information.  We’ll get back in touch to get you the video you need.

Looking for a project idea? Already got a project and ready to research?  Check out some of our videos in the subject areas below.  To view a video, click on its title or download the PDF available at the bottom of this page and search our site using each video’s Video ID.
