Quick Ideas for Using the Video:

  • Prior to viewing the video, have students talk in small groups about the type of equipment they think they would find in a scientific research laboratory. Have them share their ideas and why they think that equipment will be there. After viewing the video, were there items that they hadn’t thought of? Were items missing they thought would be there? Why do they think there might have been the differences?
  • If there is a lab in the school , Have students compile a list of equipment that exists in the video that are also present in the lab.
  • Have students make a list of new vocabulary heard in the video, find definitions, and use the words properly in a sentence.
