Quick Ideas for Using the Video:

  • Use the video for the whole class or for individual student research as they study the American Frontier movement from east to west, and/or the lives of famous Americans.
  • The video features a number of artifacts from the Daniel Boone Home. Use the video in a primary source activity to help students understand the value of what such sources can teach us about people’s lives in times before their own. Pause the video when each artifact is presented and have students hypothesize what they think it might be, how it could be used, what it might be made from, etc. before then continuing the video and learning what the expert tells about the item.
