Character 33: Making a Difference–Wishing It Forward
A local teen motivated her peers to join her in a huge marketing and fundraising effort. Katya Gehrin was ‘wishing it forward’ to a Wentzville middle schooler who she didn’t know before starting her project. The result was a massive fundraising effort by Francis Howell High School students and their surrounding community – to the tune of 10-thousand dollars. Joining with theMake-A-Wish foundation, the group formed a club then held fundraisers throughout the year. Thanks to their efforts, a Wentzville middle school students gets the trip of a lifetime to Florida.
