Quick Ideas for Using our Business, Industry, and Construction Videos:

  • Use the videos as a conversation starter for a class discussion on a topic related to STEM in business, industry, or construction.
  • Use the videos with journal prompts for students to write about as they respond to/reflect on content included in the video.
  • As part of their study, have students go into the community to interview/shadow people who work in local businesses, industries, or construction locations.  Prior to conducting their own interviews or starting their shadowing experience, have students watch videos to help them determine questions to ask and how to organize the video or presentation they create to show their learning about STEM in their chosen field.  Share videos that students create on the school district website or another public forum of your choice.
  • Contact a local engineer to speak to your class in person or virtually and have students watch different videos to help them develop questions for the guest expert.
  • Use the videos to make cross-curricular connections with the topic areas highlighted in each video.
  • Have students include insights gained through the videos as part of their projects, papers, and presentations on a transportation-related subject by:
    • interpreting and/or summarizing what they saw and learned in the video.
    • citing quotations from the expert in the video.
